Commercial Locksmith/Door Tech

Job Type: Full Time - Hours: M-F 8am - 5pm
Salary: $49,000-$63,000/year
Requirements:

  • Must have at least 3-5 years experience in commercial locksmithing.
  • Install, service, maintain, repair, replace doors, frames, locks, keys, door hardware, door closers, panic devices, smart locks, high security locks and more.
  • Cut keys to code, duplicate keys, rekey locks, SFIC cores.
  • Install cat6 wiring, cameras and access controls hardware.
  • Use smart phone app and computer software to check in and collect payments from clients.
  • Fast leaner with excellent customer service skills.

    ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

    • Performs all door and lock repair and service functions
    • Expert knowledge and skills with doors, frames, locks and keys
    • Instruct customers on door and lock operation
    • Drive company vans to client sites
    • Responds to customer questions and requests
    • Recommend corrective services to adjust customer complaints
    • Diffuses difficult and complex customer issues
    • Builds and maintains working relations with customers
    • Defines the scope of add-ons and change orders, seeks customer approval and writes up paperwork
    • Recommends ways to use additional features and capabilities of system installations
    • Performs site visits with sales consultants at existing or potential clients
    • Maintains accurate records of all inspections/service calls and troubleshooting as required
    • Provides accurate, detailed and timely paperwork and reports to management
    • Evaluates new products for reliability and fitness to targeted customer use and profile
    • Other duties as required by management

    Experience with systems mentioned below is useful but not all required.

    • Lock Hardware – GLS, ILCO, HES, Rutherford, Schlage, Allegion Brands, ASSA ABLOY Brands, SDC Controls, Lock Retrofit Kits, Magnetic Locks, Electrified Trim Sets, Electrified Crash Bars, Electrified Strikes, Electrified Handsets, Schlage NDE, Alarm Lock, BEST, Medeco, Von Duprin, Marks, panic devices, door closers and door hardware.
    • Doors – Commercial doors - Steel, wood, glass storefront.

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

    • Must be able to fluently understand, speak and write English
    • Must have clean criminal record and be able to pass a background check
    • Must have clean driving record, no accidents within the past 7 years
    • Must be authorized to work for any employer in the US
    • Must be able to pass drug screen
    • Ability to push, pull and lift at least 50 - 100lbs
    • Ability to kneel, crouch and stoop
    • Ability to reach above and below the shoulders
    • Ability to use hands and fingers to grasp, twist, and pull
    • Withstand external weather conditions year round
    • Ability to climb ladders to 12 - 16 feet
